Our story
DB Studio was founded in 2017 as an independent studio specialised in database solutions and document management for the Swiss and Italian markets. Over nearly a decade we have accompanied dozens of companies — manufacturing SMEs, professional firms, service businesses — through the process of digitalising their document workflows.
Specialisation in ARXivar came naturally: it is the most widely deployed document management platform in the Italian market, and the most capable of modelling complex processes when configured correctly. We became ARXivar Specialist Certified and over time developed more than forty custom plugins that extend the platform's native capabilities.
Alongside document management, we maintain deep expertise in SQL Server and database infrastructure management: many of the solutions we design require both disciplines, and having them in-house eliminates the complexity of coordinating between different suppliers.
How we work
We work with a limited number of active clients, by choice. Not to grow fast, but to ensure every project has a dedicated technical contact who knows your infrastructure from the initial analysis through to ongoing maintenance — no handovers, no juniors learning on your project.
We don't use templates. We don't propose off-the-shelf solutions. Every company has different processes, different infrastructure, different constraints — and deserves an analysis built from scratch, not an online questionnaire.
Where we operate
Our office is in Lugano, Ticino. We work primarily in Switzerland and northern Italy, with remote support for distributed clients.
